First aid course for parents: life-saving measures for emergencies
An emergency can happen at any time - whether at home, in the playground or on the go. Especially when babies and children are involved, quick and correct action is crucial. Our first aid course for parents has been specially developed to prepare parents, grandparents and carers for emergency situations in the best possible way - practical, child-orientated and easy to understand.
This first aid course for children is aimed at parents and grandparents, nursery teachers and anyone who regularly deals with babies and small children. It teaches life-saving immediate measures that will help you to react quickly and correctly in the event of an emergency - and can even save lives.
Contents at a glance
Recognising emergencies:
How do I recognise breathing disorders or unconsciousness in babies and small children? How do I deal with febrile convulsions, poisoning or a haemorrhage? You will learn how to recognise possible emergencies and take targeted action.
React correctly:
You will receive step-by-step instructions for the recovery position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for babies and children, as well as measures for choking and swallowing small parts. You will also practise how to treat dangerous bleeding in children.
Safety in everyday life:
We show you how to recognise sources of danger at an early stage and prevent accidents. The course leader will also explain how to equip your first-aid kit optimally and how to practise first-aid measures regularly.
Emotional preparation:
Especially in the first few years of life, it is difficult to remain calm in an emergency situation. We practise how you can help competently, correctly and react in a life-saving manner despite being upset - especially when it comes to your own child.
Practical exercises:
- Realistic scenarios to strengthen the confidence to act
- Combination of theory and practical exercises with puppets
